The building at Rynek 7 is located in the historic old town of Lublin in Poland , more precisely: on the market square .

history

A record from 1612 mentions the planned sale of the house in 1488 by Jadwiga Kuminożyna. The building was first mentioned in 1522. At that time it was owned by the Skromowski family and was rebuilt until 1540. From the end of the 16th century to the middle of the 17th century, the house belonged to the Mężyk family, with a few interruptions. At the beginning of the 17th century the renaissance facade was created and the house was extended by a third floor. From 1666 until the 20th century it changed hands more often and was then acquired by a Lublin city councilor and mayor. A major renovation was completed in 1782. In 1938 and 1954 the facade was changed again and has been preserved since then. The interior layout of the building still corresponds to the condition from the Renaissance from the beginning of the 17th century. On the first floor there is a profiled beam wood ceiling with decorations of flowers, which was uncovered in the 1990s. There is a surrounding polychrome frieze below the beamed ceiling .
