Rysensteen Gymnasium is a high school in Copenhagen .
The grammar school was originally founded in 1881 as Laura Engelhardts Skole . The then all- girls school was located at Stormgade 16 near Holsteins Palæ , the former home of the Statens Naturhistoriske Museum. In 1895 it moved to Rysensteensgade 3 , where it was finally taken over by the state in 1919 and renamed the Rysensteen Gymnasium . The last move took place in 1932 to 74 Tietgensgade , the school's current address. Co-educational classes have existed since 1958 .
The main building was extensively renovated in 2002. Due to a lack of space, a new music room was built in 2003 and in 2011 nearby rooms, in Den Hvide Kødby , were rented for lessons.
