São João Baptista is a place and a former church in Portugal . It was one of the inner city parishes of the city of Beja .

São João Baptista was the seat of a community ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of the city of Beja , in the Beja district . The community had 8.21 km² area and 6395 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

With the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, the parishes of Beja (São João Baptista) and Beja (Santiago Maior) were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Beja (Santiago Maior e São João Baptista) .
