Saxon Wine Trail

The hiking trail near Pillnitz

The Saxon Wine Trail connects Pirna , Dresden , Radebeul , Meißen and Diesbar-Seusslitz with a 90 km long hiking trail through the Elbe Valley and, like the Saxon Wine Route , leads to the most beautiful vantage points and wine cellars in the Saxon wine-growing region .

The path leads to the right of the Elbe along the vineyards, sometimes directly on the river, but mostly in the mountains halfway up or along the edge of the Elbe valley. We suggest a hike in six stages, each 15-18 km and lasting 5 to 6 hours:

  • from Pirna via Jessen, Graupa, Oberpoyritz to Dresden-Pillnitz
  • from Pillnitz via Hosterwitz, Niederpoyritz, Wachwitz, Loschwitz, Neustadt, Trachenberge to Wilder Mann
  • from Wilder Mann via Trachau, Junge Heide, Boxdorf, Oberlößnitz, Niederlößnitz to Zitzschewig
  • from Zitzschewig via Coswig, Weinböhla, Niederau to Oberau
  • from Oberau via Niederau, Zaschendorf, Spaargebirge to Meißen
  • from Meißen via Proschwitz, Winkwitz, Rottewitz, Zadel, Golk, Löbsal to Diesbar-Seusslitz
