Sébastien Boucksom (born August 26, 1976 in Roubaix ) is a French mathematician.

Boucksom studied from 1996 at the École normal supérieure de Lyon and received his doctorate in 2002 under Jean-Pierre Demailly at the Institut Fourier of the University of Grenoble (Cônes positifs des variétés complexes compactes). As a post-doctoral student he was with Simon Donaldson at Imperial College London. From 2003 he conducted research for the CNRS at the Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu of the CNRS and the University of Paris VI. Since 2010 he has been a part-time professor at the École Polytechnique and has been Research Director of the CNRS at the Center de Mathématiques Laurent Schwartz of the École Polytechnique since 2014.

He deals with algebraic geometry , geometry of p-adic varieties, and Kähler manifolds .

In 2014 he received the Prix Paul Doistau-Émile Blutet . In the laudation his work on positive currents on compact Kähler manifolds was highlighted with application to the characterization of pseudo-effective cones (Psef). and his work on the Monge-Ampère equation with application to the existence of singular Kähler-Einstein metrics . He also dealt with the Fekete problem , one of the Smale problems .

In 2018 he was a lecturer at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Rio de Janeiro (Variational and non-Archimedean aspects of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture).
