The Sögen Island ( French Île Sögen ) is a small island in the Wilhelm Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It forms the east side of the Français Cove on the southwestern extension of Port Charcot in the northern part of Booth Island .
Participants of the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot mapped them. Charcot named it after one of his sled dogs who died and is buried here.
