The Catholic parish church of the Assumption of Mary in the village center with its nave, newly built in 1877, has a strikingly high church tower built around 1400, which can also be seen in the town's coat of arms. It originally served as a watchtower, as Söhre and its neighboring villages in earlier times sometimes - such as in 1537 - had to suffer from attacks by Hildesheim citizens.

Not far north of Söhre, the Söhrer Heide on Mühlenberg has been under nature protection since 1987 , which is also known as the Black Heath . It is a with heather overgrown area known to be poor grassland was originally used as a sheep pasture. Not far away between Söhre and Diekholzen there are natural sinkholes with stagnant water in a wetland, where various rare amphibians and bird species such as kingfisher and red-backed shrike can be found.

On the eastern edge of Söhre, the Söhrer Forsthaus below the 322 m high Tosmarberg is a popular destination.
