Søren Stryger (born February 7, 1975 in Køge ) is a former Danish handball player who played in the national team.

Career

His career began in Maribo (until 1996), but in the same year he switched to Vrold Skanderborg (1996-1999). Before he went to Germany, he played two more seasons in his home country with GOG Gudme (1999-2001). From July 1, 2001, he played for SG Flensburg-Handewitt . In 2008 Stryger retired after suffering a serious knee injury.

At SG he was the captain and played on the right winger . In 240 Bundesliga games he scored 1,086 goals (249 of them by seven meters ).

Søren Stryger made his international debut on January 16, 1998. Until his retirement from the national team on February 6, 2007, he completed 151 internationals in which he scored 482 goals.

Private

He lives in the Flensburg district with his wife Eva and his two sons.
