SAP Crystal Dashboard Design is a commercial editor for creating Flash- based dashboards . The application is intended to make it easier for developers and users to create meaningful dashboards for evaluating a wide variety of company key figures. It is currently being distributed by SAP Deutschland AG & Co. KG .

history

Xcelsius (then name) was released on July 10, 2003 by Infommersion . Infommersion was acquired by Business Objects in 2005 and from then on developed and sold by Business Objects.
On July 1, 2008, Business Objects Deutschland GmbH officially became part of SAP Deutschland AG & Co. KG .

Name changes

Today's SAP Crystal Dashboard Design has been renamed many times and is now known by several names:

  • Xcelsius Engage
  • Xcelsius 2008
  • SAP Crystal Dashboard Design

The name Xcelsius Engage was chosen by the original developers. After the software was sold to Business Objects , Xcelsius Engage was renamed Xcelsius 2008 . When SAP took over Business Objects, the name was changed to SAP Crystal Dashboard Design. The latest version of the software is still called Xcelsius 2008 and sometimes even Xcelsius Engage.

functionality

Basically, SAP Crystal Dashboard Design can be called a WYSIWYG editor for Flash- based dashboards . A wide variety of elements ( diagrams , control elements , input fields, etc.) can be dragged into the work area and then edited. If the elements are to be supplied with data, they must be linked to cells of an embedded Excel file.
