The SC Munich from 1906 is a sports club from the Munich district of Obergiesing . It was founded in 1906 as a weight training club. In 1927 a football department was also attached. With around 500 members, the association was one of the largest in the city.
The football department was dissolved in 2008 and re-established together with FC Haidhausen in a quasi-merger as SpVgg 1906 Haidhausen .
history
The club gained national fame as the club where Franz Beckenbauer began playing football. The club achieved greater success in the 1950s when it was one of the best teams in Bavaria.
