SDSS J112118.57 + 433246.5 is an unusually blue L-dwarf of the spectral class L7.5 (NIR) with strong absorption bands of H 2 O and FeH in its spectrum, which may indicate a low metallicity or a thin layer of condensed matter (" Clouds "). A spectrophotometric estimate of the distance of this object located in the constellation Ursa Major showed a distance of around 150 light years.
SDSS J112118.57 + 433246.5 was identified as a blue L-dwarf using data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). The corresponding study by Chiu et al. was released in 2006.
