Small Form Factor Special Interest Group
Small Form Factor Special Interest Group ( Engl. For literally advocacy group for small form factors ), short SFF-SIG , is a community of interests of different, well-known in part, manufacturers, dedicated to the development and specification of hardware technologies for small form factors involved . The headquarters of SFF-SIG is located in Santa Clara (USA).
One result of the SFF-SIG is the Stackable Unified Module Interconnect Technology (SUMIT), in which computer interfaces are routed via a defined plug-in connection to enable a modular structure. SFF-SIG is also involved in the specification of the form factors CoreExpress , Pico-ITX and its standard Pico-ITXe, which has been expanded with SUMIT.
