Sis publishing house

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sis Verlag was a publishing house that published home books and folk literature in Zeitz from 1915 .

history

The publishing house was founded in March 1915 by Reinhold Jubelt the Younger in Zeitz . Reinhold cheers d. J. was the first son of the father of the same name, Reinhold Jubelt d. Ä. and mother Agnes, née Herrmann, born on May 25, 1890 in Zeitz. Reinhold was prepared early on by his father for the later takeover of the Reinhold Jubelt company, which was founded in 1889. He learned the book and art print trade as well as newspaper printing in his parents' business. In Berlin, Leipzig and Naumburg he studied "advertising", today one would call it marketing. In 1911 Reinhold Jubelt d. J. joined his father's company at the age of 21 and soon developed his own activities. First of all, he and his father modernized the machine park and optimized internal processes.

On the wave of patriotic thought, he founded Sis Verlag in the middle of World War I in 1915. As a young man he discovered his passion for his homeland, an enthusiasm for “Germanism” and an interest in the origins of Germans. He chose “Sis” as the company name as the old Germanic name for “Zeitz”. He chose the Siegrune ϟ as the company logo , which was a symbol of the nationalist movement and was later used by the SS for their logo.

Initially, Sis Verlag published predominantly home-related books and novels, but also folk literature. After the sudden death of Reinhold Jubelt d. J. on December 26, 1926 and the increasing takeover of the "Germanic and ethnic themes" by the emerging National Socialists , his father concentrated the print products again on regional and homeland-related topics.
