Marco Antonio Garcés Ramírez (born November 7, 1972 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican soccer player who mainly played in midfield .

Life

society

Garcés began his professional career in the 1994/95 season with his "home club" Cruz Azul , for whom he made his debut in the Mexican Primera División on September 4, 1994 in a 5-2 home win against the Toros Neza . With the capital city club Garcés won the Mexican championship (Invierno 1997), the Copa México (1996) and the CONCACAF Champions Cup (1997).

At the end of 1997 he left the Cementeros and joined CF Pachuca through two short-term positions in the greater Guadalajara area with the Tecos and Chivas in the summer of 1999 , with which he won three further championship titles (Invierno 1999, Invierno 2001 and Apertura 2003) and again the CONCACAF Champions Cup (2002) won.

In late 2003, he left the Tuzos and returned to Cruz Azul, where he let his active career end.

Currently (2013) Garcés is working again as a talent scout in the service of CF Pachuca.

National team

In the first quarter of 2002 Garcés played a total of four times for the Mexican national team: He made his debut on January 19 against El Salvador (1-0) and the next two games in January 2002 also took place in the context of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2002 . In the second round match against Guatemala (3-1) Garcés managed his only international goal and in the quarter-finals El Tri was eliminated (after a 0-0 in regular time with 2: 4 on penalties ) against South Korea. His fourth and last international match took place on March 13, 2002 in a friendly against Albania (4-0).
