The locomotives of the SJ F (II) series were express train steam locomotives of the Swedish State Railways Statens Järnvägar with the wheel arrangement 2'C 1'h4v.

history

After the Swedish railway network was directly connected to the continental network in 1909 by the Sassnitz – Trellborg ferry connection , the train loads on the connection to Stockholm increased. The performance of the class SJ A (II) locomotives used there was no longer sufficient. As a replacement, the Pacific locomotives of the F series were built from 1914. A total of eleven machines with the numbers 1200-1209 and 1271 were put into service.

DPO E

The advancing electrification made the locomotives superfluous for the SJ, they were sold to the Danish state railways DSB in 1937 . There they were given the designation E 964–974. Another 25 copies (E 975–999) had the DSB rebuilt at Frichs in the years 1942–1950 . The locomotives were in use there until the mid-1960s.

The designation F was given again from 1942/1945 for the newly put into service 1'Do1 'electric locomotives .

Whereabouts

The E 964 was sold back to the Swedish Railway Museum in Gävle in 1963 as the F 1200 and the E 966 as the F 1202 in 1999 .
