Contribution rates
Since January 1, 2009 the contribution rates have been standardized by the legislator. Until December 31, 2014, the BKK did not levy any additional contribution that is independent of the health insurance fund . From January 1, 2015 to April 30, 2019, it levied an income-related additional contribution of 0.7 percent of the contributory income, since May 2019 of 1.4 percent. In 2020, the additional contribution rose to 1.7 percent.

The company writes about the origin of the name “SKD BKK”: “The name SKD BKK was created in 2000 when the company health insurance fund of SKF GmbH merged with BKK Düker. In this context, the D for culvert was added to the name and the F was removed from SKF. After the name SKD BKK was able to establish itself quite well in the following years, it was retained or no longer changed in the further mergers. "
