The game and sports club Aalen 1901 e. V. (short: SSV Aalen ) is a sports club from Aalen with around 800 members. The club has departments for sports football , basketball , athletics , jazz dance , preschool gymnastics , Gymnastics , women gymnastics , tennis and disabled sports . The SSV footballers played in the third-class amateur league North Württemberg in 1961/62 , but were relegated in 16th place with local rivals VfR Aalen . Aalen is a center in Württemberg for disabled sports. The Wuerttemberg all-around championships in athletics are held in the SSV stadium in Aalen. As early as 1947, a disabled sports community was formed in the club, in which war disabled people played sports. The department opened up to other people with disabilities in the course of the 1960s and was finally renamed the Disabled and Disabled Sports Association (BVSG) in 1991 .
