STANAG 4569

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

NATO AEP-55 STANAG 4569 is a standardization agreement of NATO which unifies the "protection levels for occupants of logistics and light armored vehicles". The standard includes hazards from projectiles, artillery and booby traps and is divided into various protection levels, so-called "levels". The highest level 6 does not contain a definition of the size of the explosive charge of the mine protection.

However, vehicles of the same class can differ significantly from one another. While some only use the necessary armor for advertising purposes , others also pay attention to class-specific threats that have not yet been taken into account in Stanag. Older vehicles, such as Russian BMP or BTR, are difficult to classify because they are armored very differently. B. frontal 80 mm, frontal fighter hatches and side 10 mm. Combat value increases are not taken into account on example vehicles.
