The SV 1920 Geinsheim is a sports club from Geinsheim , a district of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . The club became known through his time in the Association League Southwest in which he was able to win the championship in 1989 and thus rose to the Oberliga Südwest .
history
founding
In the spring of 1920, under the leadership of Julius Stadler, some young men founded the 1920 Geinsheim sports club . The aim was to do sports. The sports practiced included soccer, athletics, cycling and gymnastics. Hans Bender was elected first chairman. A site in the Geinsheim forest was made available to the association. In numerous hours of work, the association members cleared this area, uprooted and leveled it so that the forest sports field could be built, which was opened on May 17th and 18th, 1924. After the completion of its own sports field, SV Geinsheim was able to join the Southwest German Football Association .
Club colors
The club colors are black and blue These are based on the SV Waldhof Mannheim . This happened when some club members went to the SV Waldhof association game against SpVgg Fürth in the 1923/24 season . They were so enthusiastic about the victorious SV Waldhof in the black and blue striped jerseys that black and blue were also adopted as the club colors of SV 1920 Geinsheim.

Departments
SV 1929 Geinsheim has the football , tennis and recreational sports departments. In the recreational sports department, spinal exercises, yoga, step aerobics and guard dance are among other things.
