The SV Delbrückschächte Hindenburg was a German sports club in Hindenburg , Upper Silesia , which today belongs to Poland as Zabrze.

history

In 1900 the construction of two shafts, called “Zero-Schächta”, began at Makoschau . The new mine was called "Delbrückschächte" and developed very dynamically.

The mine was named in honor of the Prussian Minister of Commerce Clemens Delbrück .

Even before the First World War , the mining residents made up 90% of the village inhabitants of Makoschau. The Silesian uprisings also extended to Makoschau and the neighboring towns. As a result of the vote and the decision of the Council of Ambassadors, Poland was awarded during the partition of Upper Silesia Makoschau Poland , the "Delbrück" mine remained with Germany .

The club was founded in 1922 as SV Delbrückschächte Hindenburg and belonged to the Southeast German Football Association . For the 1927/28 season , Hindenburg rose to the then top regional league of Upper Silesia . After four years of playing in this league, the club had to accept relegation in the 1930/31 season and from then on played second class. In 1933 the Gauliga Schlesien was founded. The SV Delbrückschächte missed the qualification for the Gauliga due to the second division, but was able to qualify for the also newly created, second class District League Oberschlesien 1933/34 with a front placement . After the 1934/35 season, the club withdrew from this league, but it is currently not known whether a game was played after that. The association expired in 1945 at the latest as a result of the aftermath of the war and the resulting award by Hindenburg to Poland.
