The SV Landeck is an Austrian football club from the city of Landeck in Landeck in Tirol founded and was the 1,951th In 1960, the Unterinntalers were represented in what was then the second-class Arlbergliga. The fighting team currently plays (2019/2020 season) in the Landesliga West.

prehistory

SC Landeck was founded in the 1930s. Those responsible elected the cyclist Albert Oblinger, who took part in the Tour de Suisse and Tour de France, as the first chairman. The Landecker played, like SV Silz and SC Imst, in the Oberlandliga.

In autumn 1946 the then chairman of SC Landeck, Otto Daburt, and Josef Rimml campaigned to found the Landeck-Zams workers, gymnastics and sports club in Landeck. The first chairman was Josef Rimml and the following team had made it up: Ernst Whys, Ossi Wechner, Robert Senn, Hubert Prantner, Erwin Guggenberger, Adi Zangerle, Hans Rieger, Hans Kappacher, Josef Senn, Helmut Bowolny, Ernst Koss, Josef Tamerl, Klaus Landerer, Erwin Schneider.

Foundation of SV Landeck

In April 1949, those responsible for both clubs met at Gasthof Nussbaum for a general assembly and first dissolved FC Landeck, including SC Landeck, and then ATSV Landeck-Zams, only to meet again in the evening and found SV Landeck, the Stefan Lami as the first chairman understood.

Arlbergliga

In the Tyrolean championship in 1958/59, the club qualified for the Arlbergliga, which was reformed by the Regionalliga West, the SV Landeck landed in 10th place, which meant relegation to the Landesliga Tirol.

50th anniversary

By the 50th anniversary of its existence, the club wanted to celebrate a promotion and brought numerous players reinforcements from Innsbruck: Luis Trenkwalder, Walter Saurer, Anton Isser, Josef Kremser and Hubert Thönig. In 1984 the 50th anniversary was celebrated and they finished 7th in the Tyrolean League.

In the 1987/88 season, the club rose to the Landesliga West. In the following years the club was more often in the Landesliga West than in the Tyrolean League.

Relegation to the regional league

At the beginning of the 2000s, the club was in the Landesliga West, celebrated the championship title in 2002 and rose to the Tyrolean League, where, as in the 1990s, it was not able to establish itself permanently until the Oberinntaler were relegated to the regional league in 2012 West had to accept.

Incorporation of FC Landeck

The second Landeck football club, FC Landeck, entered the championship in the 1998/99 season and were eighth out of ten teams, and in 2003 the club was promoted to 1st class west. In the 2003/04 season, the club was sixth, joined the SV Landeck and is part of the SV Landeck second team. In the 2004/05 season this team played in 2nd class West.
