The sports club Lokomotive Rangsdorf , or SV Lok Rangsdorf for short , is a sports club from Rangsdorf in Brandenburg . In April 2003 the association had 553 members in eight departments.

history

1953 was the founding year of today's sports club. At that time the Rangsdorf sports community was dissolved. Two company sports clubs took their place . While the footballers found accommodation in the BSG , the handball players formed the Lokomotive Rangsdorf company sports community from January 15, 1953 . In the course of the political change in the GDR in 1990 it was converted into a registered association, the SV Lokomotive Rangsdorf eV

Departments

The association currently consists of 7 different departments:

Handball

The handball department of Lok Rangsdorf has had several successes in its history. The GDR championships for the women's team are among the greatest successes . In 1956 and 1961 they won the indoor title. In 1955 the handball players rose to the top league for the first time. In addition to the championships, the team was runner-up in 1958 and 1960, and third place is recorded for 1957. The basis for this success was excellent youth work. In 1963, for the eighth time since 1953, female handball youths were able to bring the GDR youth championship to Rangsdorf. With players like Edith Noack, Ingrid Schenatzky, Irmgard Gehring, Erika Lehmann and Helga Radtke, the club also provided national players from the GDR.

GDR champions from 1953:

Helga Hockwin - Ursel Frenzel, Inge Glinka, Ulla Kathe, Ingrid Knaths, Hildegard König, Erika Lehmann, Ingrid Schenatzky, Inge Schmidt

GDR champions from 1957:

Christel Bernhardt, Jutta Frindt, Irmgard Gehring, Helga Globisch, Heidi Gröpler, Evelin Haase, Marie-Luise Lehmann, Edith Noack, Ingrid Schenatzky, Erika Scholz, Rosi Weinhöfer.

The handball gentlemen from Lok Rangsdorf first rose in 1956 in the then double-track handball GDR league . With just one win from the seven games of the 1956/57 season , the Rangsdorf team rose again as the table penultimate. But the locomotive handball players returned to the league after a year. The second attempt went better. After three wins from eight games, the team finished the 1958/59 season in sixth place among nine teams. This top division class preservation was a one-time event. In the 1959/60 season , the locomotive handball players managed a single victory in fourteen games. This meant relegation to the bottom of the table. A later return to the league handball of the GDR was no longer successful for Lok Rangsdorf.
