The SV Ottweiler is a German sports club based in the Saarland town Ottweiler in district Neunkirchen .

history

Foundation and participation in the DFB-Pokal

The association was founded in 1919. In the 1946/47 season, the club played in the third-class probation class Saar within the group East, with only 7:27 points, however, at the end of this season they rose to the 1st district class. For the 1977/78 season the first football team of the club qualified for the first round of the DFB Cup . There the team met on July 30, 1977 at TuRa Harksheide , since the game ended 1: 1 afterwards, a replay was played on August 10. Ottweiler won this 2-1 at home. In the second round, the SV then competed at BSV 07 Schwenningen on August 20 and lost 4-0 there. The following season should also be promoted to the Saarland League.

In the 2003/04 season the club played in the Saarland District League, with 51 points at the end of the season, third place. After the end of the 2005/06 season with only 22 points, the 16th and last place was occupied, the team was relegated to the Kreisliga A Schaumberg. The 2007/08 season should have been the last here for the time being, the team withdrew from the league and only appeared in friendly matches.

But in the 2010/11 season the club then took part in a game community under the name SG 08 Ottweiler with the DJK Ottweiler again in the game operations of the district league A. With 57 points, the team finished sixth at the end of the season. For the 2012/13 season, he was promoted to the district league via third place in the preseason. With 18 points, he was relegated to 17th place and thus last place at the end of the 2016/17 season.

For the 2017/18 season they teamed up with the TuS Steinbach and founded the FSG Ottweiler / Steinbach , which then took over the starting position of the TuS in the Saarland League. The FSG has been able to stay there to this day.
