The Ehrenklasse Saar 1946/47 was a division approved by the French military government for football clubs in Saarland, which was played between mid-October and the end of December 1946 in the league system in two groups of six teams each and represented the highest amateur class . In the preseason, only the clubs 1. FC Saarbrücken and VfB Neunkirchen , which started in the Gauliga Westmark before the war, took part in the Oberliga Südwest , Saar-Pfalz-Hessen group. In August 1946 the 1. FC Saarbrücken had after the success over the SV Fortuna Rastattwon the French zone championship. After the conclusion of the competition, which was limited to Saarland, 1. FC Saarbrücken and VfB Neunkirchen took part in the northern group of the Oberliga Südwest again in January 1947 .
