The FC Volders is an Austrian football club from the town of Volders in District Innsbruck-Land in Tyrol and was founded on 26 May 1963 as a football section of the SV Volders newly founded in 2006 as FC Volders. The football club played in 1971/72 and 1972/73 in the Landesliga Tirol, a league of what was then the third Austrian division. The fighting team plays in the Tyrolean league .

Predecessor club SV Volders

On May 26, 1963, the founding meeting of the football department of SV Volders in the Gasthaus Bräu, attended by mayors Richard Dierl, Johann Krassnitzer, Josef Powoden, Josef Knapp, chairman of the winter sports club Adolf Magerl, Johann Reinstadler, Eugen Lutz, Franz Pescolderung and Josef Moser and another 45 interested people were present. The winter sports club Volders was dissolved and the SV Volders with skiing, curling and soccer was founded. Richard Diertl signed a ten-year lease agreement between the property owners and the municipality of Volders in advance, so the football department had a pitch. Nevertheless, the championship began in September 1963. The changing rooms were built in 1964, the lighting installed in 1965 and further adaptations of the sports field took place in the 1968/69 season.

In the meantime, the fighting team fought through the lower Tyrolean leagues and celebrated the championship title under coach Peter Altenburger in the regional league east in the 1970/71 season, which meant promotion to the Tyrolean regional league. The team line-up at that time was as follows: Erich Streiter, Fritz Streiter, Markus Altenburger, Peter Altenburger, Helmut Rochelt, Werner Knapp, Günther Troger, Günther Kamler, Hugo Habl, Wolfgang Reisigl, Toni Zantler, Manfred Steinlechner, Gerold Troger. In the following seasons, the team stayed in the Tyrolean regional league, in 1972/73 the Volderer descended into the regional league center in order to be promoted to the newly founded amateur league in the following season.

While the sports field is being completely renovated under Mayor Erwin Posch in the 1974/75 season, the championship games will be played in Wattens. Fritz Streiter handed the head of the section back to Johann Krassnitzer. For the first time in the club's history, a sponsor could be won from the 1979/80 season. In the 1984/85 season the club was in the Landesliga Ost.

From the 1985/86 season, the Volderer moved to the Landesliga West. Josef Wurzer had to fill the coaching position in the 1990/91 season, as Selim went basic, in the next season he was able to report two great successes for the fighting team. The team rose to second place in the Landesliga Ost in the fourth-class Tyrolean league and made it into the finals of the Tyrolean Football Cup, in which the Volderers were only defeated by the Axamers on penalties. On January 30th, 1993 Josef Wurzer gave the head of the section to Daniel Streiter, who was still an active player and coach of the fighting team. Despite the triple burden, the team was twelfth in the Tyrolean league.

From the 1995/96 season, Erwin Jenewein took over the section management and the team was relegated to the regional league, in the next season under coach Friedl Brem in the regional league west. Walter Angerer took over the section and the sporting management in 1997/98, Daniel Streiter returned as a trainer and was runner-up in the regional league west.

2001 Mario Klausner took over the coaching office and the Volderer reached the third place, in the following season under section head Seraphin Klausner the Volderer occupied the ninth place in the table. In 2003/04 Milser Harald Lederer was introduced as section head, the combat team was ninth in the regional league east. and club chairman Richard Dierl took over the management of the football department, who then carried out several renovation measures at the sports field. Auer Robert came as coach in spring 2005 and placed the team in third place in the regional league east. After Richard Dierl left the Volder municipal council, he resigned from the position of chairman of the sports club and mayor Maximilian Harb resigned from the head of the section. In the spring of 2006, Robert Auer became sporting director at WSG Wattens and stayed with the Volderer until the end of the championship. The football department was dissolved on June 9, 2006, as were all other sections of SV Volders. After all sections had founded their own clubs, the Volders sports club dissolved.
