The SWK Stadtwerke Krefeld AG (SWK) is a municipal utility and transport companies for Krefeld and also some adjoining parts of the Lower Rhine .

Group structure

The corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the city of Krefeld.

The SWK Group is a regionally oriented municipal group of companies that operates in the five business areas of energy, water, waste disposal, transport and services. The group offers comprehensive infrastructure services for private households and companies in Krefeld and the Lower Rhine region. As a management holding company, SWK AG performs central management, service and control functions for its operationally active wholly-owned subsidiaries SWK Energie (supply of gas, electricity and district heating), SWK Mobil (public transport), and SWK Fahrservice (public transport in the city) Bocholt), SWK Kompakt (infrastructure services), NGN Netzgesellschaft Niederrhein (distribution network operator) and EGN Entsorgungsgesellschaft Niederrhein (waste disposal). It also provides services for other investment companies.

Since 2019, SWK Mobil has been supplementing its mobility offer with e-scooter sharing (SWK KRuiser) and an on-demand service with hybrid vehicles in the London taxi design (my SWCAR). In addition, the SWK has been cooperating with the car sharing provider stadtmobil Rhein-Ruhr since the end of 2013 and offers the option of e-car sharing at various locations in the Krefeld city area.
