The SWS-Rundschau is the oldest social science journal in Austria, the history of which can be traced back to 1961. It has been published under its current name since 1987 and is published quarterly by the independent, non-profit association Sozialwissenschaftliche Studiengesellschaft (SWS) in Vienna . It is interdisciplinary and has the highest circulation in the German-speaking area. It has been included in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) since 2006 . The journal supplies the document server Social Science Open Access Repository (SSOAR).
