The Saarbrücker Kanu-Club eV (SKC) is a canoeing club in Saarbrücken .

General

The association has around 450 members, making it the largest canoe club in Saarland and one of the most active and largest associations in the German Canoe Association . The members practice canoeing with hiking and white water rafting, racing and slalom boating, freestyle, dragon boating and volleyball. The SKC Saarbrücker Kanu-Club was honored by the DKV German Canoe Association for its active youth work, its social commitment as well as for its attractive offer in canoeing . In recent years, the SKC has campaigned for canoeing activities in a particularly commendable manner and has contributed to making canoeing more attractive in the club, according to the DKV. Above all, the SKC offers young people numerous opportunities to actively practice canoeing.

successes

  • Martin Lang (* 1968), multiple German champion in the canoe single in canon slalom, world champion in 1991 and 1993 and Olympic participant in 1992 (6th) and 1996 (7th).
  • Members of the Saarbrücken Canoe Club participated in the 2010 Dragon Boat World Championships in Hungary. Basilio Pecorino, Tanja Rauch, Patrick Siegel and Joachim Weisung won five silver and two bronze medals.
    • Vice World Champion in the men's Masters over 500 and 2000 m and the Masters Mixed over 200, 500 and 2000 m;
    • Bronze in the Masters men over 200 m and in the senior men also over 200 m.
  • Sarah Jellonnek: Silver in the individual and gold with the team at the European Quadrathlon Championships.
