Saar Research Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Saar Research Association (SFG) was a research association founded in 1926 with its seat in Frankfurt am Main .

The research community initiated by Hermann Aubin , the founder and head of the Bonn Institute for Historical Regional Studies of the Rhineland , served to scientifically support a German claim to the reorganization of the Saar region . In the run-up to the Saar vote , the SFG published the Saar Atlas ; this should prove a historical connection between the Saar and the German Empire . The institute was financed by various Berlin ministries . After the Saar area was reorganized in 1935, the SFG merged with other institutions in 1936 in the newly created Saar- Palatinate Institute for State Research .
