Saaz Gate
The Saaz Gate (Czech: Žatecká brána ) in Louny (German Laun ), the district town of Okres Louny in Ústecký kraj in the Czech Republic , was built in 1500. The city gate is a protected cultural monument.
history
The Žatec Gate was built as part of the medieval city fortifications that were built in the 15th century. According to the inscription on the front of the gate, the construction was completed in 1500. It was a front gate for a gate further east on Žatecká Street, which was probably demolished in the 19th century.
