Sabine Fuss

Sabine Fuss (* 1962) is a German climate scientist. She heads the working group “Sustainable Resource Management and Global Change” at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC). She is a professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin .

Life

Fuss earned a master's degree in international economics and a doctorate in sustainable development in the energy sector from Maastricht University . She was employed at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis . In 2018 she was appointed professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Act

Zu Fuss' research interests include the management of resources with a particular focus on systems analysis , decision-making under uncertainty, integrated assessment with a focus on mitigation and adaptation to climate change , the mechanisms for CO 2 management as well as climate-compatible development and Climate policy . Most recently, she was particularly concerned with negative emissions . She once said: "The longer the world waits with ambitious climate protection measures, the more important the importance of CO 2 removal technologies becomes"

Fuss is one of the authors of the IPCC's special report on global warming of 1.5 degrees (2018).
