Sabine Krapf

Sabine Krapf (born June 4, 1964 in Heidenheim ) is a former German fencer and official representative of the German Olympic Sports Confederation .

Athletic career

Krapf began as a schoolgirl with swimming and athletics , but soon devoted himself exclusively to fencing. The sword became her preferred weapon.

Krapf was trained by Peter Kroner in 1976. In 1981 Krapf was runner-up in the modern pentathlon . With the German team she was able to win the vice world championship title in the team competition in 1982, 1983, 1986 and 1987. In 1988 and 1990 she became world champion in epee fencing with the German team. Krapf was German fencing master seven times.

In 1989, Krapf received the silver laurel leaf from Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker for her sporting achievements .

Krapf ended her sporting career after her 13th participation in the World Cup in Darmstadt.

Professional career

After their sporting careers have concluded Krapf her German studies - studies and worked as an account manager . Krapf has been a member of the National Olympic Committee and the German Olympic Sports Confederation since February 1, 2005 , and heads the “Top Olympic Sport of the National Olympic Committee (NOK) for Germany” department.
