Sacred Heart Cathedral (Kiribati)

The Sacred Heart Cathedral is a Catholic church in South Tarawa on the Tarawa Atoll in the island state of Kiribati .

history

The Church is consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus . You being the bishop of the Diocese of Tarawa and Nauru ( Dioecesis Taravana et Nauruna ), which until 1982 Diocese of Tarawa, Nauru and Funafuti and 1966-1978 Diocese of Tarawa said. The headquarters of the diocese with several buildings adjoins the building to the east. The area is called Teaoraereke . In 2016, the first nun from Kiribati was ordained there.

Koru Tito is currently the bishop .
