from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sadb ingen Chuinn is a legendary figure from the Celtic mythology of Ireland .

mythology

Sadb is named as the daughter of Conn Cétchathach ("Conn with the hundred battles"), one of the Irish high kings. Her first husband was Macnia mac Lugdach, their son Lugaid mac Con also became Hochkönig. After Macnias death she married the southern Irish king Ailill Aulom , their son was Éogan Mór, founder of the Eóganachta dynasty . According to another version, she was just Ailill's wife, Éogan's mother and Lugaid's foster mother, Eogan Mór is also named here as Ailill's father.

In the story it is mainly used as ancestress seen the Eóganachta Dynasty. In the Acallam na Senórach ("Conversation with the Ancients") she becomes

[...] one of the four best women a man has ever slept with [...]

called.

Sadhbh , Oisin's mother and wife Fionn mac Cumhaill is sometimes equated with her, but this cannot be proven.
