Saddique Boniface

Abu-Bakar Saddique Boniface (also: Abubakar Saddique Boniface) (born November 14, 1960 ) is a leading politician in Ghana . Between 2005 and July 2007 he was Minister for Youth, Labor and Labor ( Manpower, Youth and Employment ). Due to a government reshuffle, Boniface moved to the Ministry of Water Resources, Public Works and Housing as Minister in August 2007.

Boniface attended Navrongo Secondary School and later Tamale Secondary school in the Northern Region . Boniface studied social science and technology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology , (KNUST) in Kumasi , Ghana.

He received a bachelor's degree in social sciences and technology in 1985 and went to the UK for postgraduate studies . Here he completed the following degrees, among others:

  • Master in International Economics from the University of Essex (1993),
  • Certificate in International Banking Certificate at Midland Bank in Exeter (1994)
  • MBA in Financial Management from the University of Exeter (1998).

Memberships

Boniface was a member of the Gonja Youth Club where he took on a number of tasks. He was also a past President of the Environmental Green Leaf Club (Salaga) and President of the Northern Student Union (UST), (1984).

Career

Boniface served on various finance committees.

He was Senior Economic Officer in the Ministry of Finance. In the Ministry of Trade and Industry he was Deputy Minister in the Industry Department. Also in the Ministry of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital, he was Deputy Minister. Boniface was Minister for the Northern Region before moving to his current role as Minister for Youth, Labor and Labor.

He has worked in many parliamentary working groups and committees in the areas of finance, budget, roads, transport and foreign affairs .

Between 2001 and 2003 Boniface was Vice Minister for Trade and Industry. Between 2003 and 2005, he moved to the Ministry of Tourism and Modernization of the capital as Vice Minister. In 2005 he became Minister in the Ministry of Manpower, Youth and Employment (later renamed Minister for Vocational Training and Employment). On August 1, 2007, Boniface succeeded his predecessor Hackmann Owusu Agyemang as minister in the Ministry of Water Resources, Public Works and Housing. Agyemang resigned to run for the 2008 presidential election.
