Sadi Çoban (born July 17, 1902 in Istanbul , † 1953 ) was a Turkish football player .

Player career

society

Çoban's career is incompletely documented. He belonged to the squad of the Istanbul club Hilal SK from the first half of the 1920s and played with this in the game İstanbul Ligi (German Istanbul League ). Since there was no national professional league in Turkey at that time, regional leagues existed instead in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which İstanbul Ligi (also called İstanbul Futbol Ligi) was considered the most renowned. For this club he played until the summer of 1926 and once brought Kurtuluş Kupası with him .

After Hilal SK had finished the season 1925/26 in penultimate place and the league was reduced from 14 teams to eight teams, Hilal rose from the league. Çoban moved to league rivals Fenerbahçe Istanbul after his club was relegated . He played for his new club for three years as a supplementary player and only gained a regular place in the course of the 1928/29 season. In the 1929/30 season he was with his team Istanbul champions and was one of the squad that won this title for the first time for Fenerbahçe.

Subsequently Çoban played for Fenerbahçe until the summer of 1932.

National team

Çobans began his national team career in 1924 with a commitment for the Turkish national team in the Balkan Cup against the national team of the USSR . By August 1927, he completed two more games.

With the Turkish selection, Çobans took part in the 1936 Summer Olympics.
