Saenger is an impact crater on the back of the moon with a diameter of 75 kilometers. To the west-northwest is Erro crater , to the north is Moiseev and to the northeast is Al-Khwarizmi .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1970 after the German engineer Eugen Sänger .
