Safi Faye
Safi Faye (* 1943 in Dakar ) is a Senegalese filmmaker. She was the first African female director to become internationally known. She studied ethnology at the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris.
In 2017 she was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
