history
The mosque was originally built in 1636 by the Safavid -König Tahmasp I. built. Only two years later, in 1638, the building was destroyed by the Ottoman ruler Murad IV when he invaded Tabriz. When the Persian troops regained control of the city, the mosque was rebuilt - but soon afterwards it was destroyed again by a severe earthquake. As a result, the entire square as well as the mosque were rebuilt under the direction of Goli Khan Danbali. The mosque was henceforth called Sāheb ol Amr .
In 1850, Mirza Ali Akbar Khan, who was an interpreter in the Russian consulate, renewed some parts of the dome and added mirrors in the corridor, and he built a school in the mosque.
