Sahm (unit)

Sahm was a Hungarian measure of volume and its use was that of a measure of coal. The term is derived from hem or soma (see Ohm ) and can be viewed as a quarter of a fuders .

Its dimension was 34 inches long and 30 inches wide. The height was 12 inches. In practice, the amount of two sahm was counted as a load for a horse. This amount was divided into two bags.
