Twelve panels designed by the ceramist Claude Vermette with colored glazed bricks and different patterns break up the otherwise simple appearance of the walls. From the distribution level , a short tunnel leads to the only entrance and exit. As one of the few stations in the city center, Saint-Laurent is not integrated into neighboring buildings, but has an inconspicuous pavilion .

The distances to the neighboring stations, measured from the end of the station to the start of the station, are 354.38 meters to Place-des-Arts and 336.80 meters to Berri-UQAM . Sights in the area include various theaters and event halls in the so-called Quartier des Spectacles .

history

The station opened on October 14, 1966, along with the section between Atwater and Papineau . Saint-Laurent is part of the basic network of the Montreal Metro. The station is named after the Boulevard Saint-Laurent, which runs parallel to Rue Dominique . It is one of the city's most important thoroughfares and has been leading into what is now the Arrondissement of Saint-Laurent , named after Saint Lawrence of Rome , since 1720 . In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the boulevard formed the boundary between the Anglophone West and the Francophone East of the city.
