Salah Edin (born June 23, 1980 in Alphen aan den Rijn ; real name Abid Tounssi ) is a Dutch rapper of Moroccan origin.

stage name

His stage name Salah Edin comes from an Islamic knight from the 11th century who instead of violence used words (expressiveness / rhetoric ) as a weapon to win his battles.

Musical development

In the early 1990s, Salah Edin first started rapping in English. After he first attracted attention, he started rapping in his mother tongue, Darija Arabic (Morocco's official language ).

In 2003 there was a meeting with the already better-known Dutch rapper Cilvaringz, who belongs to the close circle of Wu-Tang Clans and signed Salah Edin on his label Ringz & Partners Entertainment.

First official publications

In 2008 Salah released the album called "Nederlands Grootste Nachtmerrie" (Netherlands Greatest Nightmare). It was mainly produced by the American producer Focus. In 2009 he released the album "Horr (Pure)", which he recorded in his mother tongue (Arabic).
