Salak is a small town in the Indonesian province of North Sumatra, not far from the border with Aceh province . It is the capital of the administrative district (Kabupaten) Pakpak Bharat and is a sub-district (Kecamatan) of the administrative district.
geography
The city is located in the northwest part of the island of Sumatra . It is located in a small valley and is surrounded by rainforests . The urban area also includes a large part of the rainforest in the south.
The city of Salak, which is a sub-district, is located on the edge of the Pakpak Bharat administrative district and borders on the Humbang Hasundutan administrative district to the east . To the northeast of Salak are Sitellu Tali Urang Julu and Siempat Rube , to the north is Tinada and to the west are Pergetteng-getteng Sengkut and Pagindar as adjacent sub- districts.
