The salapa is a sword from India.
description
The salapa usually has a single-edged, slightly curved blade . The blade becomes narrower from the handle to the location and tapers to a point. The booklet is designed in the same way as the Talwar booklet and has a hand guard. A flat, slightly curved, narrow metal bracket is attached to the knob, which serves to support the hand. In the Indian royal houses it was considered a sign of power to place the right hand on the sword hilt during the audiences . To this end, the bracket has been attached for convenience. Later, a separate type of sword was designed, which was specifically intended for this purpose. This guy is called the Zafar-Takieh . There is a second version of this that does not have a classic sword handle, but a T-shaped handle. The blades of the latter version are rapier blades and often come from European production. The salapa is used by royal houses in India.
