Sally-Anne Martine Stapleford (born July 7, 1945 in Worthing , England ) is a former British figure skater who started in a single run .

Stapleford's father was the ice hockey player and coach Harvey Stapleford. Her maternal grandfather was comedian Charlie Naughton.

Stapleford, the British champion from 1964 to 1968, won the silver medal behind the Austrian Regine Heitzer at the European Championships in Moscow in 1965 . At world championships her best result was sixth place in the same year . Stapleford took part in the Olympic Games twice. In 1964 and 1968 she took eleventh place.

After the end of her competitive career, she became a referee at the International Skating Union (ISU). Between 1988 and 2002 she was a member of the technical committee of the ISU and from 1992 to 2002 chairwoman. Since 1995 she has also been the Chair of the British Figure Skating Federation, NISA. In the course of the Olympic scandal in the couples competition in 2002, she had to give up her position at the ISU. As a result, she and others founded the World Figure Skating Federation WSF, which, however, could not oust the ISU. Stapleford remained an outspoken critic of the policy of the ISU, especially the new rating system and the associated anonymity of the judges.
