Salmonella Dub

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Salmonella Dub is a band from Kaikoura , New Zealand .

Career

The band was formed in 1992/93 when the first three members played reggae rhythms and bass sounds. Their music was so well received that they toured New Zealand regularly and have released three independent albums to date. They also worked with Mad Professor, African Headcharge, Alex Patterson, Infectious Grooves and other well-known dub greats. Around 1996 the fifth (and last) band member joined. With the release of their second LP (Calming of a drunken Monkey) their record distribution began through the record company Virgin . Since then, they have also been touring Australia regularly and making more contacts in Europe.

Their dub is much faster than the conventional one and you won't recognize their music as such at first sight.
