Salttønde
The Salttønde was a Danish measure of volume. The measure was for charcoal , bituminous coal , tree bark and tan and was measured in heaps. It is one of the so-called coal measures. With salt, however, this measure was not used, but the grain barrel (Korntønde) was used, especially since Norwegian salt was traded by weight (10 bushels (Danish) corresponded to 250 pounds).
- 1 Salttønde = 176 pots (s) = 8571.98 Parisian cubic inches = 170.037 liters
