Salvador Tort

Salvador Tort († January 27, 1871 ) was a Uruguayan politician .

He was initially deputy member of the Montevideo Department from April 9, 1839 to October 26, 1841, and from November 1 of this year as the elected representative in the Cámara de Representantes . From there he moved within this 4th legislative period on December 12, 1842 as a deputy in the Senate , where he represented Canelones . There he remained in this capacity in the following legislative period until his retirement on November 25, 1844. On his return to parliament, he took a seat as elected member, again for Montevideo, in the Chamber of Deputies (February 15, 1852 - 22nd May 1854). In this phase he was first Vice-President of the Chamber in 1852 and was chairman in 1854. He was elected to the Senate for the 7th legislative period, but retired again on July 14, 1855. As part of his political activities, he also worked as State Secretary in 1855. He also held the office of Minister of the Interior from July 14, 1855 for a few weeks until the revolution in August of that year. He was also President of the Superior Tribunal de Justicia .
