Salvatore Lanna (born July 31, 1976 in Carpi ) is a former Italian football player and current coach . For most of his career he played at AC Chievo Verona .

Career

As a player

Lanna spent his youth at Carpi FC . In 1992 he was included in the first team squad, but did not play a game. In 1993 he moved to Reggina Calcio , where he came to six missions in two years. In 1995 he returned to Carpi and played 30 league games. Due to his good performances, Lanna drew the interest of Chievo Verona and was signed in 1996.

At Chievo, Lanna had to fight for a regular place with Andrea Guerra on the left defense . He came on 23 missions in the 1996/97 season. In the following year, Silvio Baldini was preferred more often and Lanna came on 14 missions. In Serie B 1999/2000 he played 19 games and scored two goals, the first goals of his professional career.

In the season 2000/01 Lanna was finally starting players and denied 34 league games, he also rose with Chievo for the first time in the history of club in the Serie A on. In his debut season in Serie A, Lanna played 33 league games, and in the years that followed he was a regular player in the defense. In 2004 he was vice-captain. Most of his league games, 37 in number, Lanna played in the 2005/06 season, in which he had to relegate to the second division with Chievo.

After relegation, Lanna left the club after 11 years and moved to FC Turin , followed by two more years in Bologna , Lanna ended his career at AC Reggiana , and ended his career in 2011.

With over 300 appearances, Lanna is one of the club's internal players with the most appearances at Chievo Verona.

As a trainer

After the end of his career, Lanna became a technical assistant in the youth sector at AC Reggiana, and has been assistant coach at Chievo Verona since 2012.
