Salvatore Patti
Salvatore Patti (* 1800 ; † August 21, 1869 in Paris ) was an Italian opera singer (tenor).
Life
Patti was considered a major Donizetti interpreter and worked as a singer in Madrid before he went to New York in 1847. Here he was a director at the Italian Opera . He was married to the singer Caterina Barili , the widow of the composer Francesco Barili and the progenitor of a family of musicians that had a decisive influence on musical life in the USA in the mid-19th century. In addition to their children, the famous singers Amelia , Carlotta and Adelina Patti and the violinist and conductor Carlo Patti, they also included Caterina's children from their first marriage, the singers Clotilda , Ettore and Nicola Barili as well as the singer and conductor Antonio Barili .
